A cute Lucky Star-related wallpaper I found while looking for something new to plaster my desktop with. (After all, I DID have the old one for about one or two months, and that's about as long as I can last with most wallpapers!)
I forgot to bring a link, but I found it rather easily while Googling for LS wallpapers.
(Now, I only have to get a new DevID and a new Webcam.)
Well, from what I can remember, using Paint Shop Pro 7, I did the following:
1) Used Lasso Tool to "capture" Olimar and the red Pikmin (this took a bit of precision, since the Lasso Tool was point-to-point); 2) Made it so the Lasso'd areas (the characters mentioned above) are considered as separate/in a layer above the background (note that I don't remember exactly how I did this and succeeded with PSP7, but I recalled that it took a few tries ); 3) Recolored/replaced the background; and... 4) Experimented with various effects until I found something that looked cool.
I know it's not exactly a tutorial, but a lot of what I did was experimentation, more than anything else. It can probably be done with Photoshop as well, if you're more skilled with that program.
I'm so sorry!

Oh, wait. I was thinking about the wrong deviation, anyway. This one's actually something I found via Google search. Still, it might've used the same or similar techniques I mentioned--keyword, might.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Featuring `ATrue's Literary Fundraiser, works from many Literature Groups on Deviantart aswell as Personal Choices and #Xpose-it's quiz night on the 26th March!
